Symposium Programme

We are pleased to present the full symposium  programme (which can be viewed here).  The symposium will have three sessions covering in vivo imaging of tumour related events, live visualisation of neuobiological events and in vivo organ imaging and advanced recording modes.  The plenary lecture, given by Professor Peter Friedl, is titled 'Multi-modal intra-vital microscopy of cancer invasion, metastasis and therapy response'.  Further information about the speakers and their research can be found at this link.

Wednesday 10th February 2016

We are delighted to announce our ‘Intra-vital and Advanced Optical Imaging Symposium’, taking place on Wednesday 10th February from 09:00 to 18:00.

The symposium is being held at the Wellcome Lecture Theatre in the Queens Medical Research Institute, 47 Little France Crescent, Edinburgh.

This is a one-day symposium that will showcase the application of intra-vital optical imaging across a large range of biomedical research fields.  Topics will cover technologies such as multi-photon excitation-based deep penetration imaging, fast 4D recordings of cellular events, in vivo imaging in different animal models and label-free vibrational recording techniques.

This symposium is an initiative of the CALM_live Imaging Facility and aims to bring together the growing number of light microscopists working within the University of Edinburgh and beyond.  It will also highlight the availability and development of new imaging equipment in the CALM_live facility and related services that are on offer.

The following list of confirmed speakers promises to deliver an exciting scientific programme:

Kurt Anderson, Charlotte Buckley, Neil Henderson, David Lyons, Jeff Pollard, Nathalie Rochefort, Alan Serrels and Dirk Sieger.

We are particularly excited that Peter Friedl (Nijmegen, NL/Houston, USA) has agreed to give the keynote lecture.  The full programme will be announced in due course.

Refreshments and lunch will be provided and we will be closing the symposium with a drinks reception, which will provide a good opportunity for networking and exchange of thoughts and ideas.

Participation if free, to register for the symposium please follow this link

We look forward to seeing you all at the symposium!
