The Confocal
and Advanced Light Microscopy (CALM) Facility was
established in 2006 to provide infrastructure and services for optical imaging
in the College for Medicine and Veterinary Medicine at the Queens Medical
Research Institute, University of Edinburgh. The multi-user facility provides a range of advanced
fluorescence imaging modalities for biological applications. The award of an MRC grant as part of the Next
Generation Optical Microscopy initiative in 2014 has enabled the facility to develop
and expand the intra-vital imaging capacity with cutting-edge technologies.
